I am a huge supporter of female fronted bands, any genre, it’s always good to see women succeed in a mostly male driven field such as the music industry. I recently came across a band named Lucid Fly and was pleased to see their front-woman Nikki Layne was a super sweet, down to earth and ridiculously talented individual who sings her lungs out on a nightly basis.

It is curious as to why artists and shops from as far away as Hawaii, Massachusetts, Texas, Indiana and Philadelphia, PA make it a point to come to Musink. There is the exposure of having your work and art seeing by a broader fan base, but also the increase in customer base due to the fact that much of the crowd, passer-bys and on-lookers are there for the music.

Leaving their jobs, half their band and their comfort zone behind in SD, they have also taken their music into an exploratory direction from that first album and have incorporated elements into the music that give it a different vibe through the atmosphere and character of electronics, while still retaining the rock edge and signature sound of My Elysian.

Proving once again that the best bands have the worst names Vanna from Boston are heavy and monstrous post-hardcore hook machines that deliver the ear orgy.
