As I Lay Dying- The Cool Tour
As I Lay Dying is back this year heavier then ever and with what seems like a different mindset which has made them more determined to rock the minds of their devout fans with the release of their newest album, ‘The Powerless Rise’. Released through the all mighty Metal Blade Records. It’s an album overflowing with breakdowns, melodic scale riffs and triplet drum attacks, it’s a metalcore fan’s dream.
It’s a rare thing for a band to sound the same way live as they do on a recording, none the less convey the same energy to their eager eyed audience. As I Lay Dying is one of those bands that pushes their limits and gives it their all every performance.
Playing this years “The Cool Tour” alongside Underoath, The Acacia Strain, Bless The Fall, The Architects, Between The Buried and Me and a few other big time heavy hitters in the scene industry, As I Lay Dying definitely had the crowds undivided attention and the most number of fans sticking out the night just to see these guys blow the roof off the Palladium in Hollywood, CA.
Opening up with “94 Hours”, and going on to play other hits such as “Anodyne Sea” & “An Ocean Between Us”, the crowd was a non stop mosh pit and crowd surfing spectacle from beginning to end. As I Lay Dying will blow your mind visually and sonically every time you see them live. I recommend you check out their tour dates and make it a point to catch one of their shows.
