2012 Honda Civic Tour Hits Denver Featuring Linkin Park, Incubus and MUTEMATH
(By Brandy Cordova) The 2012 Honda Civic Tour made its stop in Denver Thursday, August 30, 2012.The destination: Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. The band line-up: Linkin Park, Incubus and MUTEMATH.
The show started at 6:30, which was an early start time. The crowd was not that abundant, therefore MUTEMATH opened up to a half packed amphitheatre. As the night wore on, the amphitheatre began to fill up.
Once Incubus took stage, the weather began to cool down more, the sun began to set, and the mood of the night turned into one of pure rockin’ bliss. Incubus is one of my favorite bands. The last time I saw them live was at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. In comparison, Comfort Dental has no chance. Either way, Incubus put on a stellar show.
When Incubus finished, the crowd began to chant encore, but due to Comfort Dental’s strict curfew, the band immediately left the stage. After a fast set change and stage set up, Linkin Park took the stage to a crowded amphitheatre. I was lucky to be in the photo pit for their first three songs, and I have to say: wow.
This was the first time I had seen Linkin Park live. I was impressed. They have such great stage presence and catchy songs that you want to sing along too. It was hard to decide which band member to watch. I found myself just looking everywhere.
All in all, this years Civic Tour brought great sights and sounds to Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. I just wish the curfew was not as strict. That way each band could play longer sets, which would make fans even happier after spending big bucks to see their favorite bands.
