It breaks my heart to see hard working bands such as Los Angeles’s very own EVOLOVE have something devastating happen to them when they dedicate their lives to doing what they truly love to do and that is, tour. Touring seems like a glamorous thing to be doing but what most don’t understand is that in order to travel all over the United States and all over the world, you must put your life back home on hold in order to showcase your music to your devoted fans.

With that being said, EVOLOVE recently engaged on a 3 week West Coast tour called Awake The State Tour, which I was asked to be a part of as a member of the crew and their merch girl. We hit cities all over California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. Quite honestly, having a blast no matter what. Now, for the better part of the tour everything was running relatively smoothly with the exception of a flat tire and our water pump giving up on life on us while we were no where near civilization. But for the most part, we can’t complain. Then there was Wednesday February 8^th. After having played a show at Plea For Peace in Stockton, CA EVOLOVE, myself and Blameshift who is a band from New York that we are sharing this tour with stopped at a Denny’s restaurant just down the street from the venue to grab a late bite to eat before hitting the road again. Upon exiting the restaurant we come to find that our back passenger window has been shattered and our most valuable electronics, which included an iPad 2, MacBook Computer, Vaio Computer, iPod and expensive carrying for said electronics. All in total the loss is estimated at roughly $4,000.  A definite huge hit on a band that is surviving on venue guarantees from night to night and our own personal bank accounts to survive out on this tour. I miraculously suffered the least expensive loss with only my iPhone charger being stolen even though my purse with wallet and MacBook computer were sitting on the seat next to the window that was smashed in.

EVOLOVE has set up a PayPal Fundraiser (http://evolovetheband.com/wp/?p=98) as well as written a strongly detailed letter to the police department in Stockton and City Hall . We are asking that ANYONE and EVERYONE help us by taking the time to donate ANYTHING they possibly can in order for us to be able to replace what we have lost. We have already exhausted our personal bank accounts as well as the bands bank account and simply cannot afford much at the moment.
